Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Sola Kiropraktikk processes, why, and what rights you have. It applies to both patients and visitors to the website.

This is a translation. If there is any difference, the Norwegian version applies.

Data controller

Sola Kiropraktikk, represented by chiropractor Henrik Skien, is the data controller for the personal data described here.

What data we process

When you are a patient, we record the information needed to give you proper healthcare:

Name, national identity number, address, phone number and email
Medical history, examination findings, assessments and treatment
Imaging results (MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound) and any discharge summaries
Appointments and payment information
Insurance details, if you use health insurance

Why, and on what legal basis

As authorised health personnel, a chiropractor is required to keep patient records. Health data is therefore processed on the basis of the Norwegian Health Personnel Act and Patient Records Act, cf. the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 6(1)(c) and Article 9(2)(h).

The data is used only to provide healthcare, to manage appointments and payment, and where the law requires it.

Confidentiality

All information about you as a patient is subject to a duty of confidentiality under the Health Personnel Act. We do not disclose information to others without your consent, unless required by law.

Who the data may be shared with

Data is shared only when necessary and lawful, for example with:

An imaging centre or specialist, when you are referred
NAV (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration), when issuing sick leave
An insurance company, only when you ask for it in connection with health insurance
Your GP, when relevant to your treatment and you do not object

Data processors

Booking and record-keeping take place in Pasientsky, which processes data on behalf of the clinic under a data processing agreement. The data is stored securely and is only accessible to authorised personnel.

How long data is kept

Patient records are kept for as long as required by the Patient Records Act and associated regulations. Information that is not part of the record, such as email correspondence about appointments, is deleted when it is no longer needed.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Access your record and information about who has accessed it
Ask for incorrect or incomplete information to be corrected
Ask for deletion, within the limits of the duty to keep records
Complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) if you believe your data is processed unlawfully

The website and cookies

The website uses Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether our ads lead to someone clicking «Book online» or calling the clinic. This only happens if you have accepted it in the consent banner.

If you accept, Google stores cookies in your browser and receives data such as your IP address, browser type and which ad you came from. We do not use this to show you targeted ads (remarketing), and we never share health information or which complaint pages you have read with Google. The legal basis is consent, cf. GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act.

If you decline, no Google Ads cookies are set. Google may then receive an anonymous signal without cookies that a click has occurred. You can change your choice at any time via the «Cookies» link at the bottom of the page.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google when the page opens. The map on the site is an image, not an embedded Google map. If you click «Book online», you are taken to Pasientsky, which has its own privacy policy.

If you email us, we process the information you provide in order to respond.
